Hackers attack shipping and logistics firms using malware-laden handheld scanners

Securityweek - (International) Researchers with TrapX released a report stating that an undisclosed Chinese manufacturer of handheld scanners used by shipping, logistics, and manufacturing planted malware on the devices as part of a campaign dubbed "Zombie Zero." The malware attacks company networks once the scanner is connected to the victim's wireless network and sends data to a command and control server located at the Lanxiang Vocational School in China.
