Sutter Health says former employee mishandled patient records

Sacramento Business Journal - (California) Sutter Health announced September 11 that a former Sutter Physician Services employee emailed electronic billing documents containing the personal and insurance information of 2,582 Sacramento-area patients to a personal account without authorization. The health system learned of the April 2013 breach in August 2015 and found no evidence of misuse regarding the information.
