DPS investigating phishing email scam

KUSA 9 Denver - (Colorado) Denver Public Schools (DPS) is working with police in an investigation into the February 27 loss of 7 employee direct deposit paychecks amounting to more than $26,000 which authorities believe was caused via phishing email asking personnel provide their DPS usernames and passwords. School officials notified all employees and urged them to be on alert for any potential phishing emails and to regularly check their account passwords.
