New Android ransomware locks device completely

Softpedia - (International) Researchers at Lookout identified a new piece of Android ransomware dubbed ScarePakage that infects devices by posing as a legitimate app on third-party Android markets and then locks the device and demands a ransom. The ransomware uses a Java TimerTask to kill other processes and a wave lock mechanism to prevent the phone from entering sleep mode.
