Amedisys notifies nearly 7,000 individuals of potential breach

SC Magazine - (National) Amedisys notified 6,909 current and former patients that their personal and medical information may be at risk after the company reported that it is unable to locate 142 encrypted laptops and computers that were assigned to former employees. The health and hospice care company stated that there was no indication of a breach of their network after learning that the devices were assigned to clinicians or other team members for use between 2011 and 2014 who failed to return the devices.
