CPS confirms data breach impacting 4,000 students

WMAQ 5 Chicago - (Illinois) Chicago Public Schools officials announced May 19 that the personally identifiable information of 4,000 students was mistakenly provided to 5 companies submitting proposals to the district. Authorities discovered the error March 24 and the five software companies confirmed that the information was destroyed.
