Fire Dept. alerts ambulance patients to data breach

Philadelphia Inquirer - (Pennsylvania; Florida) The Philadelphia Fire Department announced April 4 that the personal and billing information, including Social Security numbers, of at least 750 patients who used its ambulances were stolen by an employee of Intermedix, a third-party company that handles the data. Police in Opa-Locka, Florida, arrested an individual in February in possession of the patients' information.
