Honeywell OPOS suite affected by serious vulnerability

Securityweek - (International) Researchers with the Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Center at Carnegie Mellon University (CERT/CC) identified a stack buffer overflow vulnerability that affects the HWOPOSScale.ocx and HWOPOSSCANNER.ocx components of Honeywell's OLE for Retail Point-of-Sale (OPOS) Suite versions prior to 1.13.4.15 which can be exploited for remote code execution on vulnerable systems. Honeywell has released a patch to address the issue.
